Projects and Partnerships

Partnerships are joint agreements that call for industry-wide partner(s) to work cooperatively with the DNR to voluntarily reduce environmental emissions beyond compliance levels.

Environmental Cooperation Pilot Program
The Environmental Cooperation Pilot Program (ECPP) gives environmentally responsible companies the flexibility they need to achieve superior environmental performance.
Dry Cleaners' Partnership
The Dry Cleaners' Partnership focuses on reducing the toxicity of wastes used in the dry cleaning process and rewards participants through a five-star recognition program.
Fact System
The Fact System enables the public to access environmental emission, discharge, and transfer data collected from individual Wisconsin businesses through various DNR programs.
Green Tier
Green Tier is a program that helps businesses move beyond 'command and control' environmental regulations. Green Tier gives environmentally responsible businesses the flexibility they need to achieve environmental and economic gains.
Mercury Switch Recycling Program
The Department of Natural Resources, with support from Concerned Auto Recyclers of Wisconsin (CARS), the Wisconsin chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (WISRI), and the Cooperative Compliance Programs (CCPs), initiated the Mercury Switch Recycling Program to remove and recycle mercury light switches from end-of-life vehicles before they are processed. The EPA's Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO) provided a grant to fund this program.
Mercury Thermostat Reduction and Recycling
The Mercury Thermostat Reduction and Recycling promotes the voluntary replacement and recycling of thermostats containing mercury, and recognizes heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) businesses that pledge to do likewise.
Pulp and Paper Pollution Prevention Partnership
The Pulp and Paper Pollution Prevention Partnership's aim is to create cost-effective environmental improvement opportunities.
Stormwater Cooperative Compliance
The Stormwater Cooperative Compliance provides group training and technical assistance to stormwater permittees.
Small Business Clean Air Assistance Program

WasteCap Wisconsin
WasteCap [exit DNR] is a public/private partnership aimed at businesses helping businesses with waste reduction and recycling.
Wisconsin-Bavaria Regulatory Reform Working Partnership
The Wisconsin-Bavaria Regulatory Reform Working Partnership is an international, multi-sector agreement to advance sustainability in businesses, communities and the environment.
Wisconsin/Department of Defense Pollution Prevention Alliance
The Wisconsin/Department of Defense Pollution Prevention Alliance creates a working relationship with government agencies and local communities to promote and implement pollution prevention as the preferred strategy for protecting the environment, conserving resources, fostering community well-being and enhancing mission readiness at DOD/federal facilities in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air
Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air is a coalition of businesses, schools, community organizations and government agencies committed to voluntarily improving air quality in southeastern Wisconsin.
