This regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) was installed in 2000 to help reduce volatile organic compounds. The VOCs, which are a by product of painting, are put into the RTO where very high temperatures break down VOCs to carbon dioxide and water vapor. The RTO has helped Precision Decorating reduce their average VOC output from 102,000 to just 12,000.
