Every application to the Green Tier program receives a 30-day public comment period. Stakeholders, neighbors, customers, vendors, and you have the opportunity to give feedback on the application. This ultimately contributes to DNR’s final decision on the acceptance or denial of the applicant. Any current public notices may be found on the comments page. Help Assemble a Tier 2 ContractInterested persons may request authorization to participate in negotiations concerning a Tier 2 participation contract. To do so, send a request and a description of your specific interests in the issues raised by the application to the contact listed in the applicant’s public notice. If approved, you commit to play a role in negotiating the Tier 2 contract between the applicant and DNR. Current opportunities can be found on the comments page. Monitor Key Issues with the Green Tier AdvisorsDNR chooses sixteen academics, professionals and community members to serve on its Green Tier advisory panel. The advisors hold quarterly meetings to discuss implementation of the program, calculate its costs, assess new participation contracts, and evaluate the program as a whole. Their meeting agendas, notes and handouts are available if you would like to follow their discussions. Any comments may be directed to Mark McDermid, bureau director.
