Green Tier Advisors

There will be up to 16 Green Tier Advisors representing a variety of interests and perspectives. One quality common to each Advisor selected is his or her unique experience and significant expertise.

The Green Tier Advisors will serve staggered terms and work will continue as long as there are participants in the Green Tier program. Initial appointments will be for one, two or three year terms; all subsequent appointments will be for three years. We anticipate having four meetings a year,

The Green Tier Advisors will advise the department about:

  1. The implementation and operation of the program, including the setting of goals and priorities for the program.
  2. Evaluating the costs of applying for the program and of entering into a participation contract of a charter, and the administrative costs of participating in the program.
  3. Assessing whether incentives provided under a participation contract are proportional to the environmental benefits committed to under a participation contract.
  4. Procedures for evaluating the program and the results of the program.
  5. Changes that should be made in the program.

Each of these elements is derived from the Green Tier statute.
