What can business sector specialists do for you?

Business sector specialists want to work with you to create an efficient communication pathway between business representatives and DNR managers and technical staff. We want to improve DNR's relationship with those we regulate and assist.

Here are a few things business sector specialists can do for you:

• Proactively work with your company or organization in specific sectors to learn about needs and to share environmental opportunities;
• Provide information to you on environmental requirements and on how to a# creating waste;
• Communicate businesses' concerns to people who can rectify the situations;
• Cooperate in developing fact sheets, guides to regulations and check lists to explain regulatory requirements, technical assistance opportunities, and efficiency improvement opportunities;
• Monitor agency decisions and provide knowledge of proposed agency decisions so sectors can stay informed and give input;
• Help develop and coordinate a number of the partnerships, recognition programs and innovative environmental initiatives;
• Connect business with DNR staff needed for permits or compliance information; and,
• Take on a regional business-generalist role in addition to their statewide sector specialist role.
