Wisconsin began its Project WILD program in 1985; it is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Combined funding from agency bureaus, grants, user fees, and gifts from conservation and environmental organizations support the program.

Project Learning Tree is a sister program to Project WILD and teaches similar concepts with a forestry focus.

    How Project WILD Works

Trained Project WILD facilitators conduct educator workshops throughout the state. Workshops explain the philosophy of the program and demonstrate how the activities can be integrated into existing curricula. To date, over 22,000 formal and nonformal Wisconsin educators have been trained through WILD workshops!

Join our network of Project WILD trained educators by attending a workshop:

  • Participate in fun, hands-on activities.

  • Expand your knowledge of Wisconsin's natural resources.

  • Share ideas, information, and stories!

  • Take home the Project WILD and Aquatic WILD Activity Guides plus many other great resources.
