    Environmental Education Grants

    C.D. Besadny Conservation Grants

    This program was created to fill an important niche in funding small-scale, grassroots conservation projects. Grants of up to $1,000 are awarded to schools, organizations, individuals, and government agencies (DNR included) for projects involving education, restoration, research, and management of Wisconsin's natural resources.     EPA Environmental Education Grant

    The EPA is currently soliciting grant proposals to support environmental education projects that promote environmental stewardship and help develop aware and responsible students, teachers, and citizens. This grant program provides financial support to seed innovative projects that design, demonstrate, or disseminate environmental education practices, methods, or techniques. Grants for $50,000 or less are funded by the ten EPA Regional Offices and larger grants are funded from Headquarters. Regionally approximately 70 grants are awarded (8-12 per region), which is approximately 30% of the applications. Click here [exit DNR] for more information:

    GreenWorks!

    GreenWorks is a Project Learning Tree environmental community action program. It encourages students to participate in community based partnerships by developing and implementing environmental action projects, such as graffiti paint overs, tree plantings, stream clean-ups, and recycling projects.     WEEB Grant

    The Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) awards grants for the development, dissemination, and implementation of environmental education programs. They are open to corporations and public agencies including: counties, cities, villages, towns, public inland lake protection and rehabilitation districts, school districts, and cooperative educational service agencies.     Urban Forestry Assistance Grants

    This grant is administered through the DNR's Urban Forestry Program. The purpose of the grant is to fund projects that improve a community's capacity to manage its trees. The applicant may be a city, village, town, county, tribal government, or not-for-profit organization. Joint applications are encouraged. Grants range from $1,000 to $25,000.
