Support of the Administration

Getting the support of your school's administration and staff is a crucial step to developing a successful Green & Healthy Schools program and should be done prior to starting the program. Without administrative support it will be very difficult to proceed. When approaching your administrators provide them with the Green & Healthy Schools web site and educate them about the program. Direct them to the benefits page and explain why you are interested in participating in Green & Healthy Schools. Once you have administrative support, make sure to update them regularly on the progress you have made and keep them in the loop on any major decisions or activities your school plans to implement. Remember, a successful Green & Healthy Schools Program requires the support and effort of the whole school!
