Science, Language Arts Wisconsin Model Academic Standards:The first step in studying wetlands is to find one to explore. Sometimes you don't have to go far to find one. Check out a local park or nature center. They may have a wetland just waiting for exploration. You and your students can use the Wetland Scavenger Hunt observation sheet as a starting point in your discovery. While on their scavenger hunt, have students look for adaptations in plants and animals that help them live in a partially wet habitat. After the students have finished their scavenger hunt, have them share what they saw and heard. Wetland Scavenger Hunt Observation Sheet |
