Adopt a Bald Eagle Nest

[eagle nest]

Help the bald eagle by having your school or classroom adopt an eagle nest. You can adopt a nest for a minimum contribution of $100 which goes towards research on the bald eagle. Many schools and classrooms have organized fund-raising activities like:

  • car washes
  • bake sales
  • walk-a-thons to raise money for this adoption project.

The money raised helps researchers:

  • conduct aerial surveys by airplane to locate nesting sites
  • capture and take care of sick, injured, or orphaned eaglets
  • study blood and egg samples for contaminants

Your money will also help pay for education programs to help others better understand the eagle.

If your school "Adopts and Eagle," you will receive an adoption certificate, detailed information about eagles in Wisconsin, an activity/information booklet about eagles, and a full-color eagles calendar, donated by NorthWord Press of Minocqua.

To get more information about this program, contact: Adopt an Eagle Nest Program, Department of Natural Resources, P.O. Box 7921, Madison, WI 53707 or visit the Adopt an Eagle Nest Web page.
