Data Table
How to Read the Data Table
- The data chart is organized by year, starting with the most recent.
- Ozone injury is reported in code numbers. The numbers are 0-3:
0 = no ozone injury
1 = very little ozone injury (1%-15%)
2 = medium injury (16%-50%)
3 = heavy injury (more than 50%)
- Monarch observations can be eggs, caterpillars, or butterflies.
- The abbreviation "UK" means "unknown."
- The data reported have been corrected where necessary by DNR biomonitoring staff based on samples submitted by the schools.
Spring Harbor School in Madison has been surveying milkweed plants since 1993. To access their data pages, click here (Leaves EEK!).
The Wisconsin DNR, along with the other Lake Michigan states, has developed a series of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) maps to show ozone injury to plants across the region. To see their data, click here (Leaves EEK!).
