Wonderful Wacky Water Critters

Hydra

hydra

The amazing hydra is related to the jellyfish. Living only in clean, unpolluted waters, it can either move slowly on its "foot" or somersault end over end like a gymnast. Long tentacles surround an opening that is used for both eating and going to the bathroom. The hydra dines on meals of one-celled animals, water fleas, and seed or clam shrimp. It gets oxygen right through its skin.
