Take a Tree Stretch

Use your arms and legs to imitate tree shapes with this gentle stretching exercise whenever you feel like you need a learning break or before you're ready to get out and exercise. Stretch slowly as you form each of these different trees and repeat each one at least once. You might even be able to identify each of these trees better by knowing their basic shapes.

1. The first tree you'll become is an American elm. Elms have limbs that reach straight up into the sky. Stretch your branches up to greet the sun. Extend your arms up above your head so that your body forms the letter Y in shape.
