Cone Napkin Rings![]() Finished pine cone napkin ring. How would you like to bring a little bit of the outdoors to your dinner table? Here's how. Go find some small cones--hemlock, tamarack, black spruce. You can use them to make cone napkin rings. You'll also need the following items: an empty cardboard roll from paper toweling, a hot glue gun, scissors, and the small cones. You can use the cardboard roll from bathroom tissue, but the cardboard from the paper towels will give you more material to work with. ![]() Take your glue gun and put a little glue onto one of the cones. Press the cone onto the ring that you just cut. Remember that you're working with hot glue so make sure that you have an adult help you out. First, take your tube from your paper towels and cut it into 1-inch wide pieces. Next take your glue gun and put a little glue onto one of the cones. Press the cone onto the ring that you just cut. Keep adding cones. It helps to place the cones in opposite directions as you go around the ring to fill in the space between the cones. After you have gone all the way around and the glue is dry, give the napkin ring a try. Pull a napkin through, and ta-da! a little bit of nature joins your dinner table. |
