Objectives and Strategies for Goal 5

Goal 5: The Waste and Materials Management Program is committed to continuous improvement and compliance with its legal requirements and funding obligations.

The Waste and Materials Management Program has set the following objectives that together enable us to achieve Goal 5:

• Objective 5.1: Comply with legal requirements. Our strategy is to complete revisions to NR 600 to incorporate federal requirements and implement those changes.
• Objective 5.2: Meet 100% of obligations to earn the annual hazardous waste grant from EPA. Our strategies include timely hazardous waste relicensing; developing guidance on pharmaceuticals that are hazardous; and inspecting hazardous waste generators.
