Wisconsin Brownfields Coalition

The Wisconsin Brownfields Coalition (WBC) was created in 2003 in order to obtain federal funding from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for brownfields cleanup. Current members include the DNR and three of Wisconsin's Regional Planning Commissions. Revolving Loan Funds (RLF) that are awarded to the WBC are managed by the DNR through the Wisconsin Ready for Reuse Loan and Grant Program.

WBC Applications to EPA

2009 WBC Funding Application to EPA

The WBC applied for a $1 million Coalition Assessment Grant from EPA on October 15, 2009. EPA expects to make grant award announcements in Spring, 2010.

2009 WBC Application to EPA for Supplemental RLF Funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

The WBC applied for an $8 million supplemental Hazardous Substance Revolving Loan Fund grant on May 1, 2009. This supplemental grant was not awarded to the WBC.

2008 WBC Funding Applications to EPA

The WBC applied for a $5 million Hazardous Substance Revolving Loan Fund grant and a $1 million Coalition Assessment Grant from EPA on November 14, 2008. On May 8, 2009, DNR recieved a $1 million coalition assessment grant and a $2 million RLF. The RLF was funded with 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds.

2007 WBC Revolving Loan Funding Application to EPA

The WBC applied for a $3 million Hazardous Substance Revolving Loan Fund grant from EPA on October 12, 2007. This grant was not awarded to the WBC.

2006 WBC Revolving Loan Funding Application to EPA

The WBC applied for a $3 million Hazardous Substance Revolving Loan Fund grant from EPA on December 8, 2006. This grant was not awarded to the WBC.

2004 WBC Revolving Loan Fund Application to EPA

The WBC applied for a $3 million Hazardous Substance Revolving Loan Fund grant and a $1 million Petroleum Substances Revolving Loan Fund grant from EPA on December 4, 2003. The WBC was awarded the $4 million, and these funds are used in Wisconsin as the Ready for Reuse Loan and Grant Program.
