[CORRECTION: Candlelight ski scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 6 cancelled.}

BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. - A candlelight ski and hike scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 6 at Blue Mound State Park has been cancelled. The area has not received enough snow for skiing and the limited amount of snow on the ground would quickly be compacted by hikers on the trail turning to icy conditions. Temperatures and wind chills are also not favorable for the event.

The next candlelight event at Blue Mound is scheduled for Feb. 3. For more information about the park, search the Department of Natural Resources website, dnr.wi.gov, for keywords "Blue Mound."

Another candlelight event is scheduled for Jan. 6 at Mirror Lake State Park near Lake Delton. The Friends of Mirror Lake, who sponsor the event, will announce on Thursday whether that event will be held as planned or cancelled. People can check the DNR website by searching keyword "candlelight." Cancellations are also listed on the DNR Twitter feed.
