MOUNTAIN, Wis. - Join Department of Natural Resource staff at the Oconto County Lake Fair on Saturday, June 8, and learn more about lake issues including current management options, invasive species, grant opportunities and lake fish management.
Brenda Nordin, lake biologist for Wisconsin DNR, will present from 9 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. She will look at weed management, native mussels, algae and more. From 10 a.m. until 10:25, Amanda Strick, Oconto County Aquatic Invasive Species Specialist, will discuss the county's aquatic invasive species prevention and education program. From 10:30 a.m. until 10:50, Archibald lake Association Vice President, Steve Fleming, will discuss an alternative chemical-free approach to aquatic plant management. Then, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon, DNR fisheries biologist Tammie Paoli will talk about fish management of Oconto area lakes.
The event is free to the public and is being held at the Riverview Town Hall, 15408 Highway 32, in Mountain. Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be provided at the event.
