Walk-in Counter Service Reduced to Tuesday's Only at Dodgeville Service CenterNews Release Published: October 5, 2009 by the South Central Region Contact(s): Diane Brookbank, Customer Service & Licensing, Madison (608) 267-7799 DODGEVILLE – The Department of Natural Resources Service Center, located at 1500 N. Johns St. in Dodgeville, will be reducing hours it is open for walk-in service to the public. As of October 15, 2009, counter service will be offered on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. “Staying in touch with customers is important to us. Between our customer service specialists in the toll free call center, on-line chats and our local license vendors, we offer Dodgeville area customers many ways to buy a license or get questions answered at convenient times and locations,” said Diane Brookbank, Director of DNR’s Customer Service and Licensing. In recent years DNR has worked to offer service options that reflect what the public has come to expect from the marketplace. Among these: If you have a question on rules, regulations, or other DNR program, a toll free call center is available seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 1-888-WDNRInfo [1-888-936-7463] with Hmong and Spanish service also offered. Customers can visit DNR’s website at dnr.wisconsin.gov or call 1-877-945-4236 24/7 to buy a license. Phone callers can, for example, order a fishing license, get a confirmation number, and head out fishing right away. Live on-line chats are available on DNR’s website 7 a.m. until 9:45 p.m. at dnr.wi.gov. And DNR partners with more than 1,400 retail stores offering convenient service and hours for purchasing hunting and fishing licenses. Currently there are three license agents in Dodgeville: Jumping Jupiter General Store, 4062 Hwy 23; Wal-Mart Store 847, 601 Leffler St.; or Farm and Fleet of Dodgeville, RR1 4894 County Road YZ. For a list of agents at other locations visit our website at dnr.wi.gov. DNR is reducing walk-in hours at its service center as part of cost reductions in state government mandated in the state budget. Over the next few months, hours at all DNR service centers will be adjusted to reflect the new customer service model. All service centers will remain available to local walk-in customers at least one day per week. The timeline to make a change at a specific service center will be determined as staffing levels change. Last Revised: October 5, 2009
