Writing the Brule River State Forest Plan

The Brule River State Forest is part of a bigger picture that includes the regional landscape, communities, and many diverse interests statewide. To balance human needs with the ecological integrity of the forest, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources must prepare an updated forest master plan.

This master plan will address both the use and management of forest lands. The new plan will reflect the Brule Forest's unique character and its relationship to the regional landscape . . . to provide ecological, economic, social and cultural benefits for present and future generations.

We invite you to:

Many Voices

To develop an effective master plan, the Department will listen to many voices. Neighboring landowners, concerned individuals, conservation groups, recreational users, commercial interests, elected officials, and government agencies must participate to ensure that the plan serves the needs of the public and natual environment . . . now and in the future.
