Notice Of Availability Of the BRSF Master Plan Revision and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)After a substantial period of public involvement, the Brule River State Forest Master Plan Revision and Environmental Impacts Statement (EIS) is available for review and comment from public participants, tribal representatives, other governing bodies and elected officials. Implementation of the Master Plan Public participants and representatives from governing bodies are invited to review documents and submit written comments to the WDNR’ public contact official: Steve Petersen at the address indicated on the back of this sheet. Public Libraries, DNR Service Centers and Town Clerks are asked to retain this copy and have it available for public inspection on premises. The BRSF Master Plan Revision and EIS may be viewed on the DNR Internet web site: www.dnr.state.wi.us/master_planning/Brule/index.html Additional copies of the Master Plan Revision and EIS will be available at the BRSF Ranger Station or may be requested by contacting: Master Plan Program Assistant: (715) 365-8993 or e-mail: robert.dall@dnr.state.wi.us Comments must be received by e-mail or post-marked no later than November 4, 2002. We ask that comments focus on the management of the property proposed in Chapter Two and the accuracy and adequacy of the Environmental Impact Statement contained in Chapters Three and Four. The document included in this mailing will be presented to the Natural Resources Board, along with a summary of the comments received. Please print your name and address along with your comments. If you are an elected official or represent an organization, public agency, or governing body, please indicate your title / office / agency or organization if applicable, and your return address. If your comments are intended to represent your organization as a whole, and they have been voted on and endorsed, please describe the process of endorsement and the parties who endorsed them. Otherwise the comments submitted will be considered the comments of the individuals whose signatures appear on the letter. Please submit all comments by mail, fax or e-mail to:

Two Public Hearing will be held to receive comments on the BRSF Master Plan Revision and the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Tuesday, September 10, 2002, 6-9 p.m. Brule Town Hall Thursday, September 12, 2002, 6 -9 p.m. Fitchburg Community Center Public comment will be taken at the hearings and recorded in the official record of public comments, along with e-mails and letters post-marked no later than November 4, 2002. A Summary of Comments received will be provided to the members of the Natural Resources Board for consideration prior to the Board meeting scheduled for October 23, 2002. It is expected that the Natural Resources Board will consider the BRSF Master Plan Revision for approval at that time. As attendees enter the hearing room, WDNR staff will be available to answer any questions. Those wishing to provide verbal comment will be asked to place their name on a sign-up sheet. Hearing comments will be taken in the order that sign-ups are received. In order to allow time for everyone to speak, comments will be limited to 5 minutes in duration. If participants wish to provide further comment, or not make an oral statement, they may submit additional comments in writing. We ask that comments focus on the management of the property proposed in Chapter Two and the accuracy and adequacy of the Environmental Impact Statement contained in Chapters Three and Four. Questions received during the public hearing or in written form will be responded to by WDNR staff in writing, following the close of the public comment period.
