Percent of Changes in Acreage Assessed Agricultural

This map was originally presented in the Wisconsin DNR Handbook entitled "Ecological Landscapes of Wisconsin."

Figure: Percent of Changes in Acreage Assessed Agricultural from the Ecological Landscapes of Wisconsin Handbook

Percent change between 1990 and 1997 in the area of a township classified as "suitable for agriculture" for tax purposes. "Suitability" is decided by current soil characteristics and may not reflect actual use. These data may give misleading results in townships witha very small area of land classified as suitable for agriculture or where land suitable for agriculture is not being used for agricultural purposes. Compiled by Jill Bukovac, the Univerisity of Wisconsin - Madison from data from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.
