Statewide Forest Plan Wisconsin's Forest Sustainability Framework |
Wisconsin's Forest Sustainability FrameworkWisconsin’s Sustainability Framework (Framework) establishes a blueprint for compiling and assessing data related to forest sustainability. This Framework is a starting point. It does not present any data, but rather identifies data sources. The Statewide Forest Assessment (Assessment), to be completed in 2010, will use the Framework as a template to compile and interpret forest data. Within the Assessment, data will be presented for each indicator and metric developed in the Framework. To give an idea of what a completed indicator in the Assessment may look like, we have developed two sample indicators below. These indicators are taken directly from criteria 5 and 6 of the Framework, and address forest carbon sources and forest-based recreation. Although different indicators will use different data and presentation methods, these samples give a good idea of how data may be developed and used within the Assessment. Sample Indicators
