Peshtigo River State Forest

Recreation

The Peshtigo River State Forest offers a wealth of recreational opportunities. Anglers know the Peshtigo River's free-flowing portion for its excellent fly-fishing; paddlers brave the Midwest's longest continuous whitewater rapids; and boaters can access more than 3,000 acres of flowage from 15 boat landings. Hunters challenge themselves with a variety of big and small game. Wildlife viewers appreciate the many vistas from which to observe bald eagles, great blue herons, and osprey. And trail users, such as hikers, cross-country skiers, snowmobilers, horseback riders and off-road bikers, enjoy exploring the forest in every season.
