Winter recreation

During the winter months the Brandt Pines Trails become cross-country ski trails winding through rolling hills and river valleys.

The southern half of the state forest has 32.5 miles of snowmobile trail which serve as the main connection between Burnett and Polk counties’ trail systems. For snowshoers, the primitive areas offer solitude and tranquility surrounded only by the forest’s winter inhabitants.
