Interactive Mapping and Data Applications

Wisconsin DNR - ATRI

The Aquatic and Terrestrial Resources Inventory (ATRI) is an interactive mapping tool that allows you to more closely investigate different areas of Wisconsin. Data layers specific to comprehensive planning can be displayed on maps of specific villages, towns, counties, or cities to produce maps that can then be printed or saved for future use.

Wisconsin DNR – WebView
DNR WebView is an interactive mapping tool that allows you to access and display a subset of Geographic Information System (GIS) data available at the DNR. With WebView, you can do things like create a custom map using DNR GIS data, view digital aerial photos for most location in Wisconsin, calculate the approximate area of a property by tracing the property boundaries from a digital aerial photo, and much more.

Wisconsin DNR-Ecological Landscapes
This website is a great source for information and maps to aid in the planning process when performing an assessment of the natural resources in your community. It divides Wisconsin into Ecological Landscapes, each having a general description associated with it as well as information on vegetation, hydrologic features, land use, socioeconomics, and management opportunities. The following maps are also available for each landscape area: original vegetation, landtype associations, public land ownership, water features, and current landcover.

Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) (exit DNR)
Federal Inventory and Analysis (FIA) gathers, analyzes, and reports on the status of the nation's forests including data specific to Wisconsin. Wisconsin forest data such as quantity of forest and ownership can be found by county.

WisconsinView (exit DNR)
WisconsinView provides access to remote sensing data/imagery and derivative products to the public through this website. Most data will be made available free for download, other data may require a fee for cost recovery. Some of the highlighted satellite imagery is from Landsat and MODIS.
