Forestry GIS Maps

As the state agency responsible for resource management and environmental conservation in Wisconsin, the Department of Natural Resources requires timely, efficient and effective access to information about the state's land, water, and air resources.

The mission of the Division of Forestry Services is to provide support to internal and external partners striving to protect and sustainably manage Wisconsin’s forests.

Geographic Information System (GIS) data and maps are important to develop and maintain this mission. GIS technology provides the tools, databases, and applications which provide spatial data management, analysis, and mapping capabilities to support Forestery policy evaluation, decision-making, and program operations. A recommended starting point for the part of the site at the DNR level is the DNR GIS Data Overview and Repository
