Annual Burning Permit

The Wisconsin DNR administers Annual Burning Permit, Form 4300-125 [PDF, 23KB] to individuals who wish to burn on DNR Protection lands only. These no-cost permits are good for the calendar year and are non-transferable.

It is important that you keep a copy of your signed annual burning permit to show any law enforcement personnel if requested at any time while you are burning. Be sure to read both sides of your permit and to check the daily restrictions prior to burning either over the phone or on the web.

The annual burning permit can only be obtained at a DNR Ranger Station or by designated Emergency Fire Warden. To find out where you can obtain the annual permit, go to the Current Fire Danger Map, select the county where you wish to burn, and click the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of the right-hand box.
