Wisconsin Fish Species
Wherever possible, we have collected information on selected species of fish commonly found in Wisconsin waters.
If you can't find the fish you're interested in, or want to learn more about one of the species listed below, try the online version of Fishes of Wisconsin [exit DNR] on the Wisconsin Sea Grant Web site, written by the late George C. Becker, or the Fish Identification Database [exit DNR].
You can also try searching on FishBase [exit DNR], a global information system on fishes developed by the International Center for Living Aquatic Resources Management (ICLARM) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
School age children may also want to visit the Wisconsin DNR's Environmental Education for Kids (EEK!).
