Fishing Wisconsin: Inland Trout Fishing Regulations for 2006-2007The Wisconsin Trout Fishing Regulations and Guide, 2006-2007 [PDF 367KB] contains the regulations for all Wisconsin trout seasons, including the inland waters catch and release and the extended Lake Superior tributaries seasons. The early inland trout season on selected waters runs from March 4th, 2006 to April 30th, 2006. The regular inland trout season runs from May 6th, 2006 to September 30th, 2006. Be sure to check the current trout regulations and season dates to determine which regulations apply on the waters you plan to fish. Special Note: Fishing Restrictions on Tributary Streams to Green Bay and Lake Michigan have changed including fishing for trout and salmon. Beginning September 15th to the first Saturday of the following May: Hook and line fishing is prohibited from one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise in the tributaries. This restriction DOES NOT apply to the Oconto River and its tributaries (except the Little River downstream from Highway 141) and the Peshtigo River, from the most downstream railroad at the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 Section 30, Township 30 North, Range 23 East, (Peshtigo City Garage) downstream to the mouth. See additional details in the hook and line regulations on pages 58 and 59. Trout Regulation Maps (Updated for 2006)The following maps are meant to be a general guide to help you locate trout waters. They do not include unnamed streams or all spring ponds. For exact boundaries of regulations and open seasons see the Wisconsin Trout Fishing Regulations & Guide, 2006-2007 [PDF 367KB] and observe signs posted on the waters. To view a trout waters map, please select the region of Wisconsin you plan on fishing from the state map below. Note that the map files are very large, so please allow a few moments to download them; your best option may be to right-click on the maps and choose "Save Target As" to save them to your hard drive, and then open them from there. Since the maps rely on color to denote the various regulation categories, the maps are best printed on a color printer or viewed on your monitor. You can also use features of Adobe Reader to increase the size of the maps on your monitor. You should also consult the Trout Regulations Key at the bottom of this page.
