Types of Fish in a Lake
The 2001 online edition of Wisconsin Lakes lists the relative abundance of muskellunge, northern pike, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, panfish, trout, catfish and sturgeon in selected Wisconsin lakes.
Wisconsin Lakes also contains useful information such as lake size, depth and type, access and and lake map availability.
You can now find up-to-date fish consumption advice for affected waters on our main consumption pages.
Organized in a tabular format, the book contains information on all named lakes in Wisconsin and all unnamed lakes of more than 20 acres. The lakes are listed alphabetically by county. The entry for each lake includes the surface area, depth, type of public access and relative abundance of several game fish species. The relative abundance of each species is indicated by a code in which "A" means "abundant"; "C" signifies "common"; and "P" denotes "present".
