Fishing Wisconsin: Accessible Fishing Opportunies in Dane County

The following is a list of selected disabled-accessible fishing facilities in Dane County.

The list is organized by the level of government which maintains the facility: state, county or municipal. Since this is not a comprehensive list, please contact your local municipality to see if they maintain disabled accessible fishing facilities within their jurisdiction.

State Parks

Governor Nelson State Park

Location:
3 miles northeast of Middleton, WI
Body of Water:
Lake Mendota, a 9,842 acre lake
Fish Species:
Walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, yellow perch and panfish.
Note:
Disabled accessible benches on the pier, seated angler stations, restrooms, picnic area, fish cleaning station and telephone. State park entrance fee/sticker required.

Dane County Parks

Babcock Park

Location:
Near the Village of McFarland on U.S. Highway 51, on the east side of Lake Waubesa at the outflow of the Yahara River.
Body of Water:
Lake Waubesa
Fish Species:
Northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, panfish, muskie, smallmouth, catfish.
Note:
Accessible fishing pier and boat launch dock.

Fish Camp Launch

Location:
Northwest end of Lake Kegonsa at the inlet of the Yahara River; approximately one mile northeast of the intersection of U.S. Highway 51 and County Highway AB at the end of Fish Camp Road, off of County Highway AB.

Lake Kegonsa
Fish Species:
Northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, panfish, muskie, smallmouth, catfish.
Note:
3 accessible fishing piers.

Token Creek Park

Location:
Off of U.S. Highway 51, east of Sun Prairie
Body of Water:
Token Creek Stream
Fish Species:
Trout
Note:
Accessible pier, two playgrounds and an elevated boardwalk through a sedge meadow marsh.

Lake Farm Park

Location:
South of Madison. Exit U.S. Highway 12/18 South onto South Towne Drive, left on Moorland Road to Lake Farm Road and left on Libby Road.
Body of Water:
Lake Waubesa
Fish Species:
Northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, panfish, muskie, smallmouth, catfish.
Note:
Accessible boat launch pier, with fish cleaning facility for fishing.

Salmo Pond

Location:
On the south side of U.S. Highway 14, one and one-half miles west of the Village of Cross Plain.
Body of Water:
Along Black Earth Creek
Fish Species:
Trout
Note:
Accessible fishing pier.

Brittingham Park

Law Park

Location:
Downtown Madison, 410 Blair Street, off of John Nolen Drive.

A.O. Paunack Park

Location:
1500 Waunona Way
