Assistant Naturalist Guide-Parks $8.500 - $11.079Conduct property interpretive and education programs that interpret property natural and cultural resources, teach outdoor skills, and encourage resource stewardship. Market and promote property interpretive and education programs and management messages through promotional materials, media relations and other outreach techniques. Plan, prepare and evaluate publications, audio-visual programs, displays, exhibits, and other non-personal services. Develop or assist in developing interpretive and education programs and may assist in conducting teacher training classes. Contribute to overall property operations by assisting with visitor services and maintenance duties as necessary. Office Associate-General $7.500 - $11.378Provide administrative and clerical support to the assigned program(s). Provide general word processing, filing and copying and mailing services. Maintain supplies of forms and brochures. Provide data entry services for the program. Extract information and reports from computer files and distribute. Visitor Services Associate-Parks $8.00 - $13.292Greet visitors, collect and account for fees and disseminate information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the areas recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability. Facilities Repair Worker $8.00 - $12.451Perform facility improvement projects by repairing windows, doors, screens, and walls. Perform minor repairs to water, electrical and heating systems. Perform minor plumbing and electrical duties. Operate and maintain equipment. Fill and grade park roads, patch blacktop and maintain culverts and shoulders. Mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas and beaches. Haul garbage. Paint buildings, grills and picnic tables. Maintain restrooms, campfire rings and picnic grills. Remove trees and brush. Fisheries Technician-Survey $8.250 - $13.226Conduct multiple assessments in different geographic areas simultaneously. Act as crew leader for other LTEs when independently conducting electrofishing, fyke net and seining surveys. Determine the appropriate areas to deploy, operate and retrieve gear. Responsible for the collection of appropriate biological data as directed by the fisheries technician or biologist. As directed, independently construct or maintain equipment, act as lead worker in land maintenance activities, conduct preliminary investigations and report to biologist. Ranger - Operations $9.500 - $14.922Perform a wide range and variety of maintenance and development, law enforcement and visitor services and interpretative activities within the property. Maintain buildings and grounds, operate equipment and perform repairs and maintenance to equipment and buildings. Perform turf maintenance in public use areas. Remove brush, sign, clear and repair trails and campsites. Enforce laws, rules and regulations. Respond to law enforcement-related complaints and issue verbal and written warnings or citations. Perform public contact duties. Sell vehicle stickers and trail passes. Ranger - Enforcement $9.500 - $16.137Perform law enforcement activities for the majority of time (over 50%). Conduct random patrols. Enforce laws, rules and regulations. Issue verbal and written warnings or citations to visitors. Seize, hold and dispose of evidence for court. Testify in court. Check licenses, tags, permits and registrations. Review citations for completeness and accuracy. Develop reports related to law enforcement activities within the park or forest. Conduct investigations of accidents, fires and incidents on state lands. Act as court officer, monitor chain of evidence for all items seized and conduct proper disposition of items. Attend law enforcement training. Perform a variety of public contact, visitor information, maintenance and development duties, but not for the majority of the position's time. Wildlife Technician $8.250 - $13.226Work independently or with general direction from permanent staff performing wildlife management responsibilities that include a combination of the following duties. Participate in wildlife population and user surveys. Enter and maintain survey information in wildlife program database, assist in the analysis of results and help prepare written documentation. Work with private landowners to monitor sharecrop agreements or to develop CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) and other habitat improvement programs on private lands. Operate and maintain equipment to construct roads, dikes, flowages and parking lots. Establish cooperative registration stations for various types of game or hunting seasons. Provide technical advice, education and information to private landowners and the general public. Perform habitat restoration and establishment of native habitat development work including wetland restoration. Develop and participate in prescribed burns to maintain and establish habitat. Perform capture, release and monitoring of various game species to evaluate effectiveness of wildlife programs. Apply herbicides.
