Water Supply Engineer

Duties

Inspect new well and pump installations and review construction reports for code conformity. Review plans and specifications for portable water treatment facilities. Investigate existing groundwater pollution problems.

Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Principles and practices of hydraulics and fluid mechanics; hydrology, including water sampling, groundwater level measurement and groundwater movement; well drilling equipment and procedures.

Desired Training

Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or sanitary engineering (or some combination of the three) from an ABET-accredited program with relevant course work or experience in areas such as water supply or water treatment design, hydrogeology, sanitary engineering, hydraulics, fluid mechanics, or a verified equivalent.
