Sand Jar Art

Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Activities: Arts and Crafts, Children's program, Drop-in Program
Location: Peninsula SP

Drop by any time from 10:30 a.m. to noon (while supplies last). Activity takes about 20 minutes. Create a colorful paperweight from colored sand and a recycled baby food jar. Look at sand through a hand lens, and see if a magnet attracts any granules.

Mighty Oaks

Welcker's Shelter Building. Peninsula welcomes Stephanie Jageman, forest researcher! Join Stephanie and the park naturalist for a short woods walk to identify oaks and other trees. Learn about oak wilt disease and how you can prevent it in your own backyard. Suitable for all ages. Less than 0.5 miles. Counts as a Wisconsin Explorer activity. FREE tree booklets, too!

Fantastic Fireflies

Naturalist Led Kayak Tour

Time: 9:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Activities: Canoeing/kayaking, Outdoor activity, Outdoor skills
Location: Peninsula SP

Must pre-register at Nature Center. Limited to fifteen participants. Arrive at Nicolet Beach Rentals by 9:45 a.m. Learn about the Niagara Escarpment, shorebirds and park history on this 2-mile paddle along Peninsula's breathtaking coast. Beginners welcome. A lifeguard is not on duty. Youth age 17 and younger must be in a kayak with an adult. $18 plus tax per person payable at Nicolet Beach Concessions. Tour may be cancelled due to weather.
