Discovery Bird Hike

Time: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Activities: Birding, Hike, Outdoor activity, Wildlife study
Location: Kohler-Andrae SP

Master naturalist Andy Raddatz will lead a discovery bird hike at Kohler-Andrae. Meet Andy at the closed gate just west of the camp host sites to walk to the Friends Pond for a hike around the Ancient Shores Trail to search for birds in the park. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Bring insect repellant, sunscreen, binoculars and field guides if available. This 1.75-mile hike lasts about 2 hours and is best for ages 8 and older; children must be accompanied by an adult. Please no dogs on this hike. All vehicles will need a state park admission sticker.

Invasive Phragmites and Knotweed Community Training

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Activities: Educational Programs, Plant study
Location: Kohler-Andrae SP

Learn about identification, impacts and management of invasive Phragmites and knotweed. Participants will also learn how they can get involved in ongoing monitoring projects. Updates will be provided on current efforts to controls these species in Sheboygan and Ozaukee counties. This program is conducted by Mark Renz, Anne Pearce and Christine Bohn; co-hosted by OWLT, UW-Extension, Wisconsin's First Detector's Network and the Friends of Kohler-Andrae State Park.

All who are interested (landowners, land managers, students, environmental groups, concerned citizens, etc.) are welcome to attend. Meet at Sanderling Nature Center. The event is free and vehicle admission fees will be waived for those attending the event. Registration is appreciated. Contact Doris Kultgen, 920-451-4080.

Kite Building Workshop

Playing with Shakespeare: Get Outside with Will Children's Workshop

Shakespeare in the Park: "The Comedy of Errors"

Time: 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

The Summit Players are a traveling, seven member theatre company who present short, accessible, free Shakespeare workshops and performances to audiences around the state of Wisconsin. Summit Players shows are produced with new cuttings of Shakespeare's scripts that become tight, 75-minute shows of mayhem, character switches, and hilarity. The production is 'Shakespeare out of a trunk,' with minimal set, costumes and props and a focus on actors, as per the style of Shakespeare's time. Prior to the performance, company members will lead a 45-minute children's workshop. 5:30 p.m. workshop; 7 p.m. performance.

Lake Michigan Sand Dune Ecosystem Hike
