High Cliff SP information

High Cliff State Park is the only state-owned recreational area on Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin's largest lake. The park gets its name from the limestone cliff of the Niagara Escarpment, which parallels the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago. The magnificent 12-foot statue of Winnebago Indian Chief Red Bird, standing high on a huge granite rock, overlooks the lake and is a popular destination in the park.

General Store Museum Tours

Meet Cindy Mueller, a fourth generation descendant of a High Cliff family and kiln worker, and park volunteers inside the General Store and post office. Learn about the history of High Cliff Village and how "the Ledge" played an important part in the lime kilns.

Halloween Campground Walk

Time: 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Activities: Food, Night event, Outdoor activity, Walk
Location: High Cliff SP

Traditionally campers decorate their campsites for the Halloween Holiday at High Cliff State Park. The Family Campground roads are closed to motor vehicles from 4-8 p.m. Parking is available along the road entering the campground, as well as the Horse/Bike Trail and Indian Mounds Trail lots. The Friends of High Cliff will have concessions available adjacent to campground shower building from about noon to 7 p.m. Be sure to bring your flashlights for walking in the dark! A vehicle admission sticker is required to enter the park.
