Public hearings calendar

Public hearings are meetings in which the public is invited to speak on the record about an issue. If you are unable to attend a hearing in person, you can also submit written comments on most public hearing issues.

Note: Beginning Sept. 1, 2016 comments on proposed administrative rules will be accepted through the Wisconsin Legislature’s website at All submitted comments will be sent to the appropriate agency rules coordinators. It is necessary to include contact information in your submitted comments if you wish to receive a response. The previous administrative rules website "" was decommissioned on Sept. 1.

The DNR will hold a combined public hearing on an emergency rule and gather additional information for a permanent rule regarding expanded lake trout harvest opportunities in Lake Michigan.

The rule takes into account current lake trout populations including the reestablishment of natural reproduction in some refuge areas and is not expected to affect long-term restoration efforts. The new five fish daily bag limit was developed following an extensive angler engagement process. Written comments can be sent to or mailed to: Brad Eggold, Department of Natural Resources, Great Lakes Water Institute, 600 E. Greenfield Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53204. The deadline for comments is July 7, 2017.
