Mobile Sources (Vehicles)

Most people think of mobile sources as cars and trucks but they also include equipment such as bulldozers, motor boats, locomotives, aircraft and weed whackers. Emissions from these types of sources come not only from the combustion of fuel, but also from the evaporation of fuel in containers and tanks and during the fueling process. Many different fuels are used in mobile sources and some fuels burn cleaner than others. To determine the effect a mobile source has on the environment, consideration must be given to the type of source and the fuel that it uses.

This dump track has been retrofitted to burn cleaner diesel fuel.
