| "I made a mistake and I would like to un-submit the data for my facility." |
DNR can un-submit your data. Then you can again work on it.
| "How do I know if my company's data was submitted to DNR?" |
The DNR computer system sends a return receipt to the person submitting the data and the air contact.
If you did not receive a return receipt call or email Ralph Patterson at 608-267-7546. He will send you a copy of the return receipt.
| "I thought I needed to report air emissions for this year?" |
The facility was not listed on Switchboard for air reporting for the following reasons:
- You were not granted reporting authorization for the facility.
- The facility was not targeted as a reporting facility because emissions in prior years were below reporting levels in Table of NR 438.03, Wis. Adm. Code.
- It is a new facility and not part of the Air Emission Inventory database.

| "I am experiencing slow page loading while reporting for my facility. " |
DNR received complaints of slow page loading from a few users. After checking the performance of the program and the computer systems, we have determined that most of the complaints occur from people at companies with local area networks and firewalls. We believe the firewalls are interfering with ARS's ability to send and receive information from the user.
ARS can be run from any computer with broadband access. Although it may be inconvenient, you may want to use a computer that does not have as extensive a firewall protection as one on a local area network. We would suggest the user consider using a computer at home, at a public library, or a DNR Service Center.
| "I don't have a computer but I need to report air emissions." |
We can find an alternative way for the company representative to report.
You have the following options:
- Go to a public library and report using a computer in the public library.
- You can call and arrange to use a computer in a DNR Service Center.
- Call either Ralph Patterson-608-267-7546; Audrey Gantenbein-608-267-0804; Dan Meinen-608-261-6401; John Meier - 608-267-0869; or Cory Carter- 608-789-5512. They may be able to arrange an alternative way to report for the facility.
| "How do I report my storage tank information?" |
Run the EPA TANKS 4.09D program. From the results of the TANKS 4.09D program, enter the amount of calculated air pollutant in the Reported tab of the ARS program. These reported emissions will take precedence of any calculated emissions resulting from the throughput and EmisFactor tabs. Send the client1.mdb and tanksdata.mdb files in a zipped file to Ralph Patterson via email.
| "When is the air emission inventory report due?" |
Because March 1, 2009 is a Sunday, the 2008 air emission inventory report is due on the next business day, Monday, March 2.
| "Can I get a time extension?" |
Yes, you can obtain a reporting time extension until Monday, March 16, 2009. [Note: Because March 15th is a Sunday, the time extension deadline carries over to the next business day, which is Monday, March 16th.]
Call or email your regional air contact. They can grant you a time extension over the telephone, through email, or with a formal letter.
