Air Management Statewide TeamsThe Air Program relies on a number of standing functional teams which draw upon staff from most of the sections and from the regions as well. Team leaders have been selected for their technical competence and leadership ability. Working closely with section chiefs, team leaders track and coordinate overall activities for their teams. Active, productive teams are vitally important for ensuring that the traditional "function-based" work gets done. The primary role of statewide teams in the Air Management program is to handle policy matters and/or issues. The statewide teams are empowered to:
Statewide Standing TeamsThe Air Program has nine standing statewide teams. The statewide teams design and operate systems for implementing team programs. Each team is "sponsored" by a section chief who provides support and counseling to the team. The sponsor is also responsible for policy development and contacts with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, industrial groups and other stakeholder groups.
