Candlelight Hike

Time: 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Activities: Candlelight events, Food, Geocache, Hike, Nature study, Night event, Outdoor activity
Location: Kettle Moraine SF - Southern Unit

Enjoy an evening of hiking and fun and games at Scuppernong. A one-way, 0.8-mile trail will be illuminated by LED lights. At the end of the trail will be a bonfire, shelter building with food, s'mores, and night games. Return to your car by the same path (1.6 miles round-trip). There will also be geochaches, a ring toss, and naturalist activities. Strollers can take this trail, but expect hills. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Annual State Park Stickers will be available as you enter. A rate of $5 per car will be available for those without annual stickers. Rain date is April 15.

Kettle Moraine SF - Southern Unit information

More than 22,000 acres of glacial hills, kettles, lakes, prairie restoration sites, pine woods and hardwood forests can be found in the Southern Unit, making this a popular area for a wide variety of visitors. The Forest is 30 miles long, extending from the village of Dousman, almost to the city of Whitewater. The forest headquarters is 3 miles west of the village of Eagle on State Highway 59.

Friends Halloween Hike

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Activities: Arts and Crafts, Candlelight events, Festivals, Food, Hike, Insect study, Music, Outdoor activity
Location: Devil's Lake SP

Join us for lots of Halloween fun! There's a lot to do at this annual event sponsored by the Friends of Devil's Lake. You can go on a 1-mile torch lit hike; show off your costume by the campfire while roasting a marshmallow or two, and listen to the songs of Campfire Kevin; enjoy some tasty treats sold by the Friends group; and find out about snakes! You can even make an snake to take home with you. The event is held at Chateau (North Shore Concessions).


Devil's Lake SP information

Founded in 1911, Devil's Lake is the third oldest state park in Wisconsin, the largest, and the most visited. Devil's Lake offers magnificent views from 500-foot quartzite bluffs overlooking a 360-acre lake. Enjoy lakeshore picnic areas, sandy swimming beaches, 29 miles of hiking trails, or ease into the backcountry solitude. Devil's Lake is a beautiful year-round park with an intriguing natural history along the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
